Read-A-thon

The first event this year to celebrate the library's birthday will be the Katonah Village Library Read-a-thon! The kickoff for the read-a-thon will be a reading and pajama party at the library from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29th. Come to the library to hear the Katonah Elementary School Principal and Vice Principal read books -- in their pajamas! Refreshments will be served and you may pick up your special read-a-thon packet which will explain everything about this month long event.

Pre-schoolers through middle school kids may pledge to read (or be read to) a certain number of pages or books over the next 4 weeks. Family and friends are encouraged to pledge a donation to the library's 125th Anniversary Capital Campaign based on what children read. A children's book illustrator, Katherine Potter, and other special guests will appear in great programs during the weeks to follow.

Come in each Friday in February for a fun program and to report your reading progress. Get a sticker, win a prize and don't miss this chance to liven up those cold winter months while doing something great for yourself AND for the library. Look for more information through school and at the library soon!
