FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR WOMEN
The Katonah Village Library is pleased to present a 3-part series about Financial Services for Women. These presentations will be on three consecutive Thursdays at 10 a.m. starting April 3, continuing on April 10 and concluding on April 17. Attendees are welcome to attend one, two or all three of them. They are free and open to the public; however, registration is required.
The guest speaker is Julia Strayer, a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch. Julia is a Certified Financial Manager, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a Certified Investment Manager Analyst. She has appeared on the CNBC show “Power Lunch,” CBS “This Morning,” WGCH’s “Women in Business” in addition to featured articles in USA Today and numerous local newspapers.
The first session, Investment Strategies, will be a relaxed discussion of basic concepts of managing your finances, perfect for beginning and intermediate investors. Choosing the right asset allocation, investment styles and diversification will be covered in a friendly atmosphere.
The second session, Funds, Funds, Funds, will explain the similarities and differences between three different types of funds—Mutual Funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Closed-End Funds. How to use these funds in your portfolio will be covered along with the most effective ways to buy and sell each type of fund and the “hidden” fees.
The third session, Income for Life, will review ways to guarantee your retirement income sources and the costs associated with these to help provide the retirement you envision with the current unpredictability of the market.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To register, call the library at 232-3508 or stop by to sign up.
